If you’re in Paloquemao and looking for truly authentic Colombian food, this place is an absolute MUST. From the moment you walk in, you can tell the food is made with care and tradition. Every dish tastes homemade, like something straight out of my grandmother’s kitchen. The flavors are rich, comforting, and perfectly seasoned, you can genuinely feel the love in every bite The portions are incredibly generous, especially for the price. You definitely get more than your money’s worth, and the quality never disappoints. Everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully prepared, just like real Colombian home cooking should be! What makes the experience even more special is the atmosphere. Whenever the owner is there, you truly feel welcomed, like you’re not just another customer, but a guest in someone’s home. That warmth and hospitality make all the difference. Thank you Don Camilo !! This is without a doubt my go-to spot for Colombian food whenever I’m in Bogotá. I’ll always make it a point to come back. Thank you for such an amazing experience and unforgettable food. Highly recommend to anyone wanting authentic, comforting Colombian cuisine. THANK YOU!

It’s a great place to try empanadas with sauces of tamarindo, uchuva, chipotle and criolla.

Absolutely incredible salsas - makes the perfect gift/souvenir to take home. Their empanadas were also delicious. Definitely come find them in the market (highly recommended by locals)!!

Little stall in the market, the space is limited but the ambiance is worth squeezing in. The good was delicious and the service amazing. Would definitely recommend.

To find this place, it's probably easiest to enter the market from the southwest corner where Virgen is, then ask around. I had an arepa with cheese and hogao (tomato based sauce) for 8k. The arepa they serve was anything I've ever seen: thin and large like a personal pizza, crunchy on the edge, I really liked it. It came with 3 aji: one tasted like typical, another tasted smokey and hot, the last one had fruits that made the taste sweet and hot. The latter 2, again, I've never had them anywhere else. They sell several kinds in jars, this is a great way to sample before buying them. Because the arepas come with aji, I'll skip hogao next time. The aji were so good, I ordered an empanada paisa for 2k. It turned out to be a small deep fried piece, which was more like a Mexican empanada and a taco dorado, than a typical larger Colombian one. I finished with a few bites, I found it a poor value, although it was freshly deep fried. They also serve other dishes like tamal and calentado, but they were a lot more expensive than elsewhere.

Little food stall inside the fruit market hall. The space is a little tight due to being inside the market but the food is so good we went twice during our three days in Bogota. On our first visit we were greeted by a lovely waitress who could tell we were unsure where to sit, etc. and helped us to get situated before taking our order. The menu is great - local food cooked well. There are very good vegetarian options - not just meat dishes with the meat removed but actual dishes We had Calentado (meat and veg versions), arepas and empanadas all of which were delicious. The best part was the salsas - three given with an order of empanadas and of varying spice levels. Highly recommend this place if you are visiting the market.
